I often use facetime but might have audio activities like recording in the background.
facetime stops all of this. For example, capturing Audio from a streaming app is stopped, since the streaming is halted.
In Apple Discussions the support person claimed that disabling ducking in the Voiceover utility would solve it. It does not.
