I've got a Time Capsule as my home router with an External hard drive connected to it that is used as a home server with all my movies on it. However, I have over 500 movies on it, many of which are MP4 files. The problem is that the Finder tries to generate a thumbnail for these files and tries to read through dozens if not hundreds of large files that are in the gigabytes each. This creates an incredible amount of lag.

Is there any script file or exception I make for the finder to NOT generate thumbnails from the server? The only way around this issue is to use MKV files which have no thumbnails. Even if I apply cover art to all the MP4 files there is still lag.
