prevent my mbp from synching to my imac and iphone...I want to use mbp for banking...so want to keep that part of it isolated to the mbp and certainly don't want it on my phone or imac. thanks

Sign out of iCloud on your MBP, and don’t bother using it on that device.

Thank you, sorry I am so uninformed I will chase it some...cant be that hard as you state--simple thought icould was a cross for all of us to bear...sort of like nsa hahhah...thanks...opt out of icloud or "non sync" in pref somewhere or discontinue that acct on the mbp and ---reinitialize a new icloud acct I like that option best if it is indeed and option ...again thanks--
I wrestled with apple support chat I lost to three of them --that deal is like a road runner cartoon....and I am the coyote.

No need to disable iCloud sync.

The things iCloud will sync are:
  • Safari passwords and bookmarks
  • Keychain (passwords and certificates)
  • Desktop & Documents
  • Various applications if you permit them to
So, for passwords, don't allow Safari to save your password for banking sites. But any other browser passwords or bookmarks can sync normally.

For documents you want to keep exclusively on the MBP, put them in a designated folder other than Desktop or Documents, for instance ~/banking where ~/ is the shortcut to /Users/yourusername/, in other words your home folder. As long as your banking documents go elsewhere, they won't sync.
