I'm looking for a way to disable my Mac's access to websites without disabling either streaming (from Apple Music and Spotify desktop apps) and access to the hard drive networked to my router.

I was using Freedom for Mac for a long time and upgraded my version last night. It looks like it has a feature that would enable the above if I just don't click on "Block Desktop Apps," but when I started it, neither Apple Music nor Spotify would work.

So just wondering if I'm missing something or anyone knows of another solution.

What if you used an app like Little Snitch where you could only allow connections for Apple Music and Spotify but nothing else?

I've never heard of it previously, so thanks for the heads up. Have you used it?

I don't want to permanently disable internet, just its connection for set intervals. It looks like I can toggle Little Snitch on and off, though?

Check out OpenDNS Home. I have not used it since Cisco purchased it about three years ago.

You can default to allow no access, then edit specific apps to allow. Yes, Snitch can be toggled on and off.
