Hi,
I'd like to disable the multitouch rotate. It's just too sensitive. When I try and zoom it always ends up rotating it a few degrees and I have to go back and recenter it with the mouse which destroys the whole point about the efficiency of multitouch. So yeah. Any way to do this?

Thanks!

I don't think so. Adobe has never been a fan of letting users turn off new interface features that they introduce with new versions of existing programs...for example the extra "full screen" level in photoshop CS3 that you can't disable. Now going back and forth between full screen and not full screen is 4 pushes of the "F" button instead of 3. And really, it should be 2. I never use the first or last full screen modes because they have limited usefulness.

I actually like that feature a lot. I am upset that my first gen Macbook cannot do open GL and I cannot do it on my Macbook. But it works like a champ on my iMac. I agree it is a bit sensitive but I got used to it in no time. Play around with it some more.

Yarold.

I hope there is an answer for this. As I leave my thumb down on the lower part of the pad, it often catches it as a double-gesture and rotates the canvas. I'd really like to turn it off.

The "rotation"(on new MBP) is extremely sensitive and annoying, i really wanna turn it off. Anybody know how it could be hacked?

Well I thought I could do it with Multiclutch. You can add CS4 to the apps list and you can try and re-assign the rotate swipes to other key-commands but it does nothing when I reboot CS4... the annoying rotate palette swipe still activates.

No luck...

Disable Multitouch rotating in Photoshop CS4

Multitouch rotating in Photoshop CS4 is ruining my work experience. I need to be able to turn this feature off or to at least adjust the sensitivity.

bump. i hate this feature. I know serious PS users will use a mouse (or a drawing surface). But I've felt that the new glass trackpads let me make very precise selections quicker. I'd like to be able to use it and not rotate the canvas. (There is no way to undo the rotation which makes me extra mad).

Thanks!

I just opened Photoshop for the first time on my new Mac and had only been working for five minutes, before I wanted to kill somebody. Timely reply! ;)

You can also uncheck Enable OpenGL Drawing in Preferences.

THANK YOU! and thanks to Adobe - really I think this was Apple's job, so cheers to Adobe for solving it.

Thanks, the rotate had been driving me insane for months now, is there anyway to disable the rotate but not the zoom with the plug in though?

Thanks

It's not so much that they added this feature, which is quite cool for zoom... The annoying thing is that they didn't add an "enable" checkbox in the preferences. What were they thinking? If you're working on pixel-perfect design it really needs a nice easy way of switching it off.

At least they made the plug-in. But not having the feature switchable in the prefs is plain stupid.
