I've run across some QuickTime movie files that, on playback, launch my web browser and send it to various places. These files may purport to be footage of hurricanes or sporting event hightlights or whatever, when in fact they are spam-engines whose purpose is to ratchet up "hits" on some $#^^#@# web site (usually a string of the damn things).

Is there anything customizable or editable that will let me turn off the ability of QuickTime Movie Player (or of the QuickTime layer itself?) to pass embedded URLs to the operating system?
