I was just going through my location history in Maps on my Note2 and it shows everywhere that I have been, and where it thinks I have been every day. It thinks I go to stores (I'm guessing on proximity to location) and it is VERY often incorrect. I'm not talking about using Maps or Navigation to find a location, this is apparently always in the background tracking my movements.

Is there a way to disable this in Android?

Thanks.

Open Maps. Open Settings. Go to Offline and Cache.

Set Automatic Caching to wifi only. Then go to Clear My Places cache and clear that.

Go back and then go to Location Settings. Tap on Location Reporting and make sure it's set to Do Not Update Your Location. Go back. Uncheck Report From This Device.

Go back. Scroll down and uncheck Enable Location History.

After this, you should be good to go.
