If I use a third party email program, how do I disable Mail, so they arent both working at the same time? Also, what are the opinions on the forum about Thunderbird?

Youre right. Can you tell me how to uninstall Thunderbird?
I downloaded Thunderbird. When I click on the Applications Folder on the Dock, it doesnt show Thunderbird.
Doug, it sounds like you just downloaded the software but possibly didn't install it after the download. That may be why Thunderbird doesn't show up in your Applications folder.

To find the software you downloaded, just look in your Downloads folder which is in your User folder (unless you downloaded to a different location). If you do want to install the software that was downloaded, then just move it into the Application folder in the main drive. Once in there you can doubleclick it to start the program or with some software it will continue with an install process.

Hope all goes well :)

Lots to learn

Jayling,
Thanks very much for the info. Apparently you are right! I had dbl clicked on the downloaded file before, but as I am learning, the Mac way is very different that that of a PC. I just dragged and dropped the downloaded file into the Applications folder in Finder, and all seems to be well in Oz now. I appreciate your help
Doug
