After 10 seconds, back when they first came out with Siri suggestions and all this other search stuff... (that can be enabled on an app by app basis) I shut it down. I've never seen a search so messy.

It was a mess. Everywhere you look online, the first thing people try to do is nuke Spotlight.

Here's how I have my Spotlight setup:

The first thing I think when Spotlight search results pop up is... what even IS this?

Oh and now if you happen to use Spotlight to bring up apps... your search query stays inside the bar. How did they manage to mess that up.

Apple is terrible at search.

Reading various threads it seems plenty of people use Spotlight for different things that they want/need, just as plenty don't.

I like Spotlight. I just wish it had "Search Apple Music" as one of the basic options (in addition to Search Web, App Store, and Maps).

I like Spotlight for conversions, nothing else.

There should be an option to completely turning off Spotlight and Today view.

Apps that don't have Spotlight integration shouldn't be turning up in that list. I'm not sure why Apple hasn't figured that out yet. o_O

But then it's always been a weak point in OS X too. It's not great out of the box and works best when you tweak it.
