Short of opening the computer and disconnecting the airport antenna, is there a way to completely disable the card?

I'd like something more permanent than just turning Airport off in the System preferences. Is there a terminal command or something that would let me do this? The objective is to stop the computer from accessing any wireless networks.

In the future, you might need the wireless card for something, so it makes little sense to physically disable it. Turning it off in System Preferences turns the antenna off, so that's as effective as can be without removing it.
