Sorry if this has already been discussed - I did a search and came up empty.

What are the disadvantages to jailbreaking an iPod Touch? I have a 16gb and I'm considering Jailbreak to add some iPhone features.. I have a iPhone and love it. I bought the iPod Touch for my Wife, who I'm slowly trying to break away from Microsoft Windows.. Anyway - the better experience I can give her with this Apple device, the better..

Thank you in advance...

I'll have to agree, there is no disadvantage whatsoever. Jailbreaking allows you to do so much more, and get the full out of your iPod Touch.

I turned this thing from an iPod into a mini computer. Best electronic device I've ever used.

i agree best thing you can do is jailbreak, and even if you screw up theres always a restore.

by jailbreaking, does it mess up your battery? I find when i'm playing games and light wi-fi use my battery is done in max 3-4 hours...Anyone else find that?

Thanks

not one adverse effect since jailbreaking.

oh yeah, just one, everyone thinks it is way too cool with all the fun things it now does and can't leave me alone.

Yes, you're using more on the Touch. Try turning off Wi-Fi if you aren't using it.

Question

this might be a noob question. but i was just wondering, if you jailbreak your iphone and then restore it to factory settings, are you still covered by apple's warranty? and can you get updates for iphone os after jailbreaking?
