iPad Pro Disappointed with iPad Pro screen resolution

I own an iPad Mini with cellular for the past few years. I love the form factor and use it almost daily as bigger iPhone. But I miss the ProMotion of my Iphone 14 PM and I hate the jelly scrolling. So I ordered 11 inch M2 iPad Pro and when I received, I noticed a lot of pixelation on text. I thought I received a defective one and went to Apple Store and checked iPad Pros on display. They have the exact same issue. I checked the specs on gsmarena.

iPhone 14 Pro Max - 460 ppi
iPad Mini - 327 ppi
iPad Pro M2 - 265 ppi

What?!! Why in the world would Apple make their top of the line, very expensive iPad Pros with such a low resolution. It is by no means pre-retina level resolution, but still the pixelation is quite noticible. I don't care about MiniLed or Oled, but really wish Apple would up the resolution on their Pro tablets

14" and 16" MacBook Pro 250 PPI... I don't think anyone would say they have a pixelated screen

Smaller screen = higher pixel density, because you hold it closer to your face.
Of course, if you plant your face directly on the display no matter the size, it can cause issues with pixelation.

The iPP 11 certainty does not have a low-resolution screen. And, pixelated text? What?? I don't notice that at all on mine. 264 PPI for a tablet that size is very good.

Sorry but I don’t feel iPad Pro screen being “pixelated”. Sure the sharpness on iPhone 14 pro max is a bit better, but not to such extent that it affects the experience.
It must be a good thing to have eagle eyes and good for you.
PPI is not a “be all end all” metric for judging screen quality.

I don't think many could tell a difference between the 282ppi in the Razer blade 15 UHD and the 264ppi in an iPad...

I’m typing this on a new M2 11 inch and have to say if it is Pixelated your eyes are much better than mine.

I watch a lot of films, TV and YouTube on my iPad Pro 11”, and use it a lot for other tasks.
I can truthfully say I’ve never considered it a pixelated screen, and to be fair I was only thinking early this week how good the screen looks.

It's funny tho, I tried a 14 Pro before returning it (size, weight, and display really not for me), and could tell the difference in pixel density coming from my mini. Granted it's small, but the mini has spoiled me.

I am a very picky, eagle-eyed (and -eared, since I also enjoy and can tell the difference in lossless music) user, though.

Good for you. I couldn't even tell the iPP pro motion 120hz refresh difference, though maybe I was holding it wrong.

Video is never a problem. It's the text that's pixelated. Try holding it at 1 foot distance and go to Settings app and read the text.

Using iPhone 14 Pro Max and Ipad Pro M2 11 inch, the difference is so stark when they should be similar.

Only 265 ppi vs 460 ppi on iPhone
No Miniled or Oled vs Oled on iPhone
600 nits max brightness vs 2000 nits on iPhone

Instead of pointless M2 chip, I wish they improved the display

Video is never a problem. It's the text that's pixelated. Try holding it at 1 foot distance and go to Settings app and read the text.

I use Word and Excel a fair abount as well as a bit of photo editing, and the test is not pixelated.
And as I sit here looking at the Mac Rumours site the text is looking pretty sharp, even the small text at bottom of page is ok.
I have default text sizes and no Accessibility features switched on so all is normal.
Not sure why you’d experience this issue, seems odd.

I’ve had the M2 IPP for several days now and have found no pixelation at all. The text is sharp and clean viewing in either dark mode or on a white background. I’m quite happy with the M2.
