Hi,

I have a early 2011 MBP on which I have just upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan 10.11.2. Now, when I disconnect from my ASUS external monitor, those windows that were on the external stay off screen, and I am not able to reach them. The double desktop set-up essentially doesn't collapse to a single desktop. The only solution I have found so far is to reboot the computer, which is obviously not ideal. This all worked fine until I upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan.

Anyone have any solutions to this?
Thanks!

I've had the same problem with my 2013 rMBP lately, seems to be fixed on 10.11.3 (at beta) though.

Solution without restart (if 2nd display is still shown in settings):
System Preferences -> Displays -> Arrangement -> Press ALT and click "Detect Displays"

Thanks! Your solution works, and I look forward to having this hopefully get resolved with 10.11.3.
