Wow I just found out that I can order my much anticipated mbp through work and get it for 1799 and we also can get Mac MS office for 19.00! I am so excited makes me wanting to get my mbp tomorrow but waiting til after WWDC. So I highly suggest everyone checks with there employer for discount.

I, too have an "employee" discount through Apple. I was getting info before my G5 order a while back and made an off-handed comment that I had to get back to work. The sales rep said I might get a discount depending on my employer. Lo and behold, I did. She emailed me a link to the discount site. Discounts vary. Better discounts on Pro gear, which is nice. I can also take my business card into the Apple Store for the discount. Nifty. I highly suggest you, dear reader, call Apple and find out if you also get a discount. The stores also have a list of businesses, whose employees get discounts.

I was able to get MS Office for around £20 through work as well (Citigroup). I think this is fairly normal for large companies with Office installs.

Unfortunately, I do not work for a large company, so I don't get a discount this way.
