Disk Error

When im installing windows xp and all the copied files are in the folder it restarts and ejects the disc so it will boot from partition windows xp and when its starting up it says. disk error. whats wrong here?

I am not using a Genuine copy of windows has the new updates stopped this?
But it worked when using vista. But i hate it and i only have a 60gb hd

well sorry id use vista but i hate it and my Legal xp doesnt have sp2 therefore doesnt work otherwise id use it, i dont see why u couldnt use xp then put on sp1 and sp2 after, but it doesnt work so thats my next resort.
