Disk Not Ejected Proper since .1 update

Hello all,

I have noticed that my WesternDigital My Passport 2TB will randomly dismount itself and then remount right away sometimes even when I am using the computer, but usually there are a few of the messages when I wake the computer from sleep as well. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue? If so have any way that I can remedy it?
I have done repair through disk utility (since the verify option doesn't seem to be there anymore?) and it came back with no errors and ran fine. I have no problems accessing the content of the drives after any of the dismounts.

And a little more from me. The more I delve into this, the more I'm sure it's an electrical issue. The Orico enclosure I speak about in the first thread, finally killed my Seagate SSHD drive, due, IMO, to the constant disk ejection and remounting issue. I threw them both away and replaced them with a Seagate Expansion HDD. It's a good bit slower than my Dead Seagate Hybrid was, but I've had my MBA on all day (using El Cap 10.11.1) and the Seagate USB HDD has not ejected itself. The second thread was also posted by a WD user.

Here is how I seem to have fixed it:
Updating the firmware on the MyPassport with the tool on Western Digital’s website.

^^^^Thanks for your post. This gives credence to my theory that's is a third party hardware electrical issue and not an OS software issue.

I have just replaced my late 2009 iMac (updated the OS over time until I reached El C) to a new 4GHz / 5k. I was using a WD Firewire external drive and a Samsung USB Bluray. On my old iMac I never saw this problem.

I needed a new backup product as the new iMac has no Firewire, so added a Freecom USB 3 4TB. "The disc not properly ejected" problems began. I tried every combination of lead swaps, connections and disconnections to solve the issue, but to no avail. So I bit the bullet and bought a LaCie 2big Thunderbolt 2 8TB drive, assuming this was a USB issue. Wrong again, it too now tells me it was a Disk Not Ejected Properly. I am at a loss what to do next. The forums suggest this has been around for quite a while, but I guess its still not solved. Has anyone found an answer?
