Disk Order - important?

Hi,

I have a full Mac Pro, with all 4 drive slots filled. In Slot1 and Slot2 I have 2 HDDs, creating a Raid0, in Slot3 I have an extra HDD, and in Slot4 I have an SSD with OSX on it.

I just recently had problems installing Bootcamp, and had to take out Slots 1, 2, and 4, and install Windows on Slot3. Afterwards I installed the disks again, and it works fine. However, it made me think:

Would it matter if I rearrange the disks, so for instance the SSD with OSX was in Slot1, the extra drive with Windows on Slot2, and the two Raid0 drives in Slot3 and Slot4?

There may not be any good reason for this, except perhaps it would be more "orderly". Question is, does it matter, and, would I screw up my system in moving the drives around?

I'm OCD enough to understand. Take the Windows drive out so there is only one bootable partition and move everything else into place. Boot up and verify your OS X and scratch look good. Shutdown and add the Windows back in. Waiting to put the Windows in us probably an unnecessary step but that's how I would do it.

Would my Raid0 disks be affected by being moved to Slots 3 and 4, or is OSX smart enough to figure that one out?

I am not worried about moving the SSD (with OSX), but the two in Raid worries me a bit. Also, as soon as the Windows disk goes back in, will Bootcamp still work?

Did it, and it all seems like it is working. So, the answer is "the order HDDs in a Mac Pro does not matter", except, when installing Windows in Bootcamp, the destination drive must be in Slot1, so pull out all the other drives, and install, and then reinsert them.
