MP 1,1-5,1 Disk partition for mac pro 3,1

I recently found an ssd i wasnt using, and wiped it via my windows pc. The only problem I'm having is what boot partionion to select (GPT vs MBR). I know Intel based macs support GPT, and since the mac pro runs on intel chips, it shouldn't be a problem, right?

The current macOS uses GUID, which is GPT - Guid Partition Table.

Why not format it in Mac OS?
