After installing beta 2, I started having most of my built in MacOS applications crash with minimal use (without any obvious reason). Upon running disk utility, I found that my drive had been corrupted by the new install. I attempted a repair with no success. But... no big deal, it’s time to erase and restart.
However, I have been attempting to erase my drive for hours now. The 27” iMac 1 TB FusionDrive seems to be stuck attempting to delete the volume. After it was stuck for a number of hours doing this I force restarted and gave it a second attempt, but we are still going.
Format is being done via Disk Utility into APFS format after launching into recovery mode via Command + Option + R.
Any suggestions or ideas as to why this might be failing so miserably?
