I have two 1gig seagate barracudas software raided under 10.6.8 and I am plaining on updating the system to 10.8.2 does anybody know if the update could or will break the software raid?

Thanks

I guess a simpler way to put it is, has anyone with disk utility software raided drives upgraded from 10.6 to 10.8 without a problem to your raid set up?

I have been running a 2 disk software RAID-0 in my 2008 Mac Pro for years and it has survived many OS upgrades without a problem. I now am running a 2-240GB SSD RAID-0 boot/apps/user and the original 2 1TB disks RAID-0 and it has been unfazed by the recent Mountain Lion point upgrades.

As with any OS upgrade, it is good practice to have a recent TM or CCC backup before starting the upgrade.

Good luck,

Thanks howard,

Thats exactly the info I was looking for.

I do have my internal raid backed up with TM to an external raid but I still didn't want to take a risk.

Thanks again for you input.
