Disk Warrior and Panther?

From what I understand and have been told, you should not install "Disk Warrior" or "Norton" on to your systems. They are notorious for making your system a little kooky. What is recommended is to use either of them as a boot up disk and launch the program from the disk. In this case, they both work very well. "Disk Warrior" being the preferred choice of most that I've talked to. Hope this helps.
PS--> Being that Panther is new and sorta a major upgrade, I wouldn't be surprised if either of the Apps run into some sort of problems. They might just release an update soon after.

Drive 10?
There are dozens of Horror stories with Norton, and just a few with Disk Warrior.
I prefer Warrior... but its a crap shoot.

I didn't say not to use them. I said not to install them in your system. I'm talking utilities right now, not virus warez. With most of them you can boot up with the disk and run them right from the boot up disk.
I think you'll find that most people who've worked on OS9 and now are using OS X are the ones that are alittle aprehensive. I've heard and experience some really funky things installing Norton Utilities on my OS9 system. I personally haven't tried it on my OS X system but I'm alittle leery about doing so. I will say that Disk Warrior is the best one out there. I wouldn't use anything else. If anyone has any other experience, please share.

Love Drive 10... Use 'target disk mode' on my Macs and do maintenance from my laptop... Not really necessary, however (as I don't ever have problems with the OS, not for a long time).. Actually, I'm a big fan of Micromat's products.. They have a brand new TechTool Pro available for OS X... Have any of you tried it? That was like the ULTIMATE utility for OS 9...
I was looking at TTP4. It is $100. Then they have Drive X and say you get a 'free upgrade to TTP4 if you buy Drive X now'. But Drive X is $70. What am I missing here?
Will probably get DW3 and DriveX. I have DW2 so DW3 is only $30 or so.
