Disney just launched their upgrade program for those that own Disney DVDs. The breakdown of the program is you send in your proof of purchase tabs (usually located on the side dvd case or outside slip cover) and Disney sends you an $8 coupon per title.

You can upgrade as many DVDs as you which and practically all of their Blu-ray lineup is eligible.

The $8 manufacturer coupon is good at participating retailers including Wal-Mart and Target (Unfortunately, Amazon is not participating).

And you get to keep your DVD.

Participating U.S. retailers include:

Best Buy Co Inc
Bjs Wholesale Club Inc Hq
Blockbuster
Borders
Disney Stores
Disneyland Resort
Kmart Corp/Hq
Meijer Inc
Nebraska Furniture Mart
Sears Roebuck & Co
Target Corp
Toys R Us
Transworld
Wal-Mart

Many of these retailers (particularly Target and Wal-Mart) already heavily discount Disney Blu-ray discs.

Sounds like a fairly good deal. I have about 16 eligible titles that I’ll start digging through tomorrow.

Unless you've discarded all of the cases because you encoded your entire DVD library to HDD and store the discs in a 200 sleeve case. :(

Ouch. That stinks. I store mine in a sleeve case too, but I put all of our plastic/cardboard cases in a storage tub in the attic.
