display control software / application ????

hi

i connect my titianuim powerbook g4 to my 26" lcd via vga and leave the vga cable plugged in to the tv , unfortuantely i have not found out how to disable the lcd as a second screen so i can use my laptop screen only is there an application or software that i can use to disable and enable the second screen being picked up by osx as i dont always want it detecting a second screen just cause the cables plugged in !!!!!

well some people i think have stopped this from being a nice forum in to a judgemented domain but anyways ill figure it out !!!
