If you mean the exact time that you received a text, then it does that when you get a text from someone whom you haven't got a text from in a few minutes, like in the screenshot below:

Of course he knows that it appears like that sometimes.

Well those are the times of the text messages... He/she didn't elaborate much, so I didn't know what they meant other than that.

From the title of the thread, I instantly knew:

a) What they were asking for
b) That my response would be:

"This is not possible without jailbreaking your iOS device."

I can't believe people use text message for business stuff like this. I sent info to co-workers with a text, but if it's very important and needs a time stamp, you're better with email then.

There are certain things that I do in business that require the exact time of text messages.

As of now, it is not possible. Hopefully, future iOS release addresses this! I don't know why Apple did not include this to begin with...at least as an option.

Maybe people involved do not have easy access to email! Majority of people have text message plans!

Those are conversation times...not exact message times!

Do you know what kind of business OP has? Why should we assume things rather than answering his question?

No matter what business anyone has, they have a customer of some sort. Communication is important to keep a business going.

I also did give help also, sorry if I don't have the "right" answer, but it's all I can offer. I could easily have said something "if iOS doesn't fit your needs, go with one that can" or something.

Who care's if TC doesn't email people. Chill out people. He asked a question. Maybe instead of emailing, he should blog his updates, or perhaps send out postcards with the info with postmark dates. Maybe he can fax also, and get timestamps of faxes.

TC, Can't be done in standard iOS.
