can i have frontrow displayed on a monitor i have hooked up to my macbook via dvi cable, while still surfing the internet, and doing other stuff on my macbook pro?

Yes, as long as you don't need the menu bar! FrontRow will start on the main screen (the one you define to have the menu bar and dock). If you can live with out your menu bar you can surf on the secondary screen.

OK scratch that: I've just tried it. FrontRow blacks out all non-primary screens when it starts so the answer to the question asked appears to be no, you cannot use FrontRow on one screen and surf on another.
