I purchased a 2012 MBP for lightweight tasks and upgraded RAM / storage. It has been working fine except for overheating issues. One day I left the computer on for about a full day. When I picked it up the next day, it had a grey translucent horizontal line at the bottom of the display. This line kind of remembers the colour of the whatever was on the screen even after you leave that page.
I want to fix the issue because otherwise the laptop is working great. I have cleaned the internals, added new thermal paste, and upgraded OS to Sonoma using OpenCore. I'm very happy with the performance.
What components should I try replacing to troubleshoot this issue?
