Toronto, Ontario!
I have a Graphite clamshell (I was told it was Blueberry ...looked grey to me!)
It works fine but when it powers up the screen that should be grey with the apple looks red? and when surfing the left part of the screen has this distinct pink color.

Otherwise laptop works fine.
Is the display about to puke? can I do something to fix it? its super weird.

This is my daughters computer BTW.

I don't think there's anything you can do, sounds very, very strange to me. :(

I would say that the screen might be on it's last leg. :(

Ok a quick google turned up a few things...

A connector ribbon for video?
Or faulty backlight...

Currently the whole screen is pink...LOL

Quite a few things I dredged up made note of pink screen issues.. but they were not from dead lcs's or logic boards?

Does anyone know about this?

My guess would be the vga connection ribbon, it might have just come a bit loose.
Time to do some surgery to make sure.
ifixit.com has some great guides.

Good luck

If its not the connector ribbon, try hooking an external moniter up (if its got video-out) and see if its the machine or faulty connections, ect.

Ok took it all apart, and the connection plugs for VGA were good.
nothing was loose.

Got the cathode light from the LCD and it seems to be the bulb.
Its black at both ends.. should it be this way?
If not I think I found the issue.

now where do I get another one!!

Can't help you on that one, sorry.
Did you try to disconnect/reconnect the vga ribbon (both ends) and fired her up? (just making sure ;))
It seams somewhat strange a broken backlight pinks your display.

Well, if that still didn't solve you problem. Good luck.

Backlight questions...

Hi Macbrookes hubby here...

Have the clamshell torn apart and I have a few questions..

Upon start up of machine.... The light is itself a bright pink that slowly turns white after approx a minute of running. I take it the light itself is need of being changed. NOW, when the light was running, having the rubber boot removed, the end touched on the metal frame of the screen. It got brighter then went out. Subsequent power-ons yields no light at all.

Did I finally do the light in? Did i do the power supply for it in? I am need of advise from the mac gurus.

Thanks

Macbrookes Hubby! lol
