Hey guys,

I have a samsung external monitor that I am using with the new MBP. When i connected it, the display isn't centered and it doesn't fill the screen completely.

Samsung BX2450 has a 1920 x 1080 resolution.
MBP: 1440 x 900.

The previous mac 2010 version had the same resolution but didn't have this new display issue. I changed to a HDMI, but now the monitor is saying analog and doesn't want to work with this cable.

What can I do? Apple doesn't know **** and neither does Samsung. This monitor cost me a fortune and I really do not want to buy a new one.

Cheers,
K

You might have better luck in the laptop forum, this forum is for the desktop Mac Pro.

Is desktop mirroring on? If so, that forces the external monitor to the same lower resolution as the laptop screen.

No, I haven't used that. I don't like mirroring. FDoes this mean once I use it and revert back it will stay that rez?

Ok, I will repost there. thanks!
