Hi, I need some advice about the screen of the new macbook pro 16". Currently I have MBP 2015 15" and I use it for programming, web design, vmware, docker and etc. For me, the screen is very important and currently I can't find the information/comparative about 2015 15" Retina Display vs 2019 16" Display.

Is there a big difference between these two screens? I'm quite happy with MBP 2015 15" and what I don't want is to get worse. Thanks all

The 16" is 70% brighter than the 2015, and has a P3 wide color gamut. It also has marginally higher pixel density at 226 vs 220 ppi.

Some believe the 16" has a slower response rate, though there's no measurements for the 2015 to compare. Others notice no difference. Most are quite happy with the new screen.

I went from the 2015 15" to 2018 15" to 2019 16".

The jump from 2015 15" to 2018 15" was the biggest. Much better look and colors looked more accurate. The 2018 15" to 2019 16" is not much different.

I have a 2012 retina MBP and bought the 16 inch recently. The jump was extreme. My parents have a newer generation 2016 MBP and I still like mine better because of True Tone.

I believe that the faulty cases discussed in the forum are exceptions to probably pretty significant numbers of 16 inch MBPs sold without any issues. People that have nothing to complain normally don't post on forums.

Yes, there is a difference. The 2019 16" display is brighter and more vibrant compared to the pre-2016 15". The PPI is roughly the same (unfortunately), but still slightly better on the new one (226 instead of 220) and you do get a bit more space running at native res.
