Display Problem with new macbook Pro core 2

Hi,

Next to my only 24bit problem i am not able to do a simple black to grey gradient in photoshop without getting lines (unsmooth gradient) along the gradient. the problem is the display that seems to be unable to display the gradient. under my windows pc the same gradient in the same psd file is perfect.

strange! can anyone help?
