Does anyone feel like the default text size in all applications is too small when your imac is set at it's best resolution?? I really hate to compromise some of the display quality by decreasing the resolution, but everything seems so small!!! I really hoped on a nice big screen i could look at things larger than I could on my laptop!! Is there anything I can do about this? I am new to Mac, so maybe I am just missing something.

Go to an Optometrist and have your eyes checked out. Your other alternative would be to lower the resolution which kind of defeats the purpose of a large monitor. It drives me crazy when I use someone's computer and they have the resolution cranked as low as it will go on a large monitor.

i've had lasik surgery, so I have great vision. I still wish I could look at things larger on the screen though. I mean what's the point of such a large monitor if you can't blow things up?? That being said... i hate lowering the resolution as well. I just thought maybe there was a setting or something I was missing though. Guess not. Oh well, I imagine I will get used to it.

this is a problem that will be solved once we get resolution independence. right now, many of the elements that are used to draw windows are bitmap images, meaning that when scaled, they will become blurry, as they have a predefined size.

one day, everything will be lovely and vector, and be infinitely scalable. that would also mean even higher resolution screens that provide greater sharpness while keeping the same size for fonts and window elements.

Font sizes

For now I use the increase/decrease font size button on the browser when I need to make changes. It seems to work pretty well.

is this something that is supposed to be implemented in Snow Leopard... or just a far off dream?
