For anyone that cares to read in detail, here's the shootout.

They picked in the following order:
1 - Nexus 7
2 - Kindle Fire HDX
3 - iPad Mini Retina

They actually went as far to call the Retina Display disappointing. Ouch.

I think we're actually at a time where all high end devices have gorgeous displays regardless of results from shootouts like this. For me the differences really lie in the display type, Amoled vs LCD. I don't think I can ever go back to LCD after getting used to the GS4 and now Note 3 displays. Nothing like those deep blacks to give infinite contrast.

Meh I'd still take a retina mini over those 2 any day of the week.

Meh, you must like overpaying for tablets. The Nexus 7 wins in many categories and it's half the price of an iPad mini. With an N7, you're simply getting a similar product for less cash.

Agreed. Had a Nexus 7, and returned it for an iPad rMini.

Though, the Nexus 7 was really nice, but the overall experience is not was I was looking for.

You must have been looking for a near equal tablet for 2x the price.
