I may be answering my own question here....My network seems to be working fine; I'm using a Netgear CM500V modem, connected to a Taotronics AC3000 Mesh router system (2 units). I have Xfinity gigabit service, on Speedtest my MacBook is getting 287 down/24 up, which seems all I need. I've had the Taotronics since 2021.
I've always been a bit worried about security with the router, even though I'm using NordVPN. Now I can't get into my TT Router app, as it requires 2FA from Taotronics, and they're not responding with a passcode, they don't list the product anymore, and their blog is dead. When I could access the app, I never was able to get any firmware updates.
So I'm thinking it may be time to ditch the mesh router and replace it, particularly with sales coming up. As I said, I may be answering my own question. But I'd welcome any wisdom from the group.
