Ditching Mail.app because of PDF previews displayed

Out of curiosity I checked the BitDefender log and found multiple threats quarantined, all in attached PDF files that somehow slipped through Microsoft 365 anti-virus features and ended up in my inbox.

Reading about Operation Triangulation and how a long chain of Apple exploits, with the start in a PDF, were used - ending up with malware on the device - I started looking for a way to disable the automatic preview of PDF attachments in Mail.app.
Disappointed I found none.
Anyone know a way or is Mail.app designed without an option to disable this feature?

I don’t use Mail on Mac, but I would have guessed that “Block All Remote Content” would treat a PDF like an image.

The PDFs are attachments to the messages and not loaded from a remote location.
