Going to buy the new Mini(2.5GHz) and looking for some advise before I do.

I want a SSD, but not sure if I should install one myself or have apple configure it. I'm confident enough to replace the HHD with a SSD myself, but not sure how to PROPERLY installing OS X Lion and software that's included.

I'd buy it and install it myself, there should be some guides on the net how to install a SSD to the Mini.

Good luck and I hope the SSD install goes well :)

To the point.

How do you PROPERLY installing OS X Lion and software that's included on a new SSD you installed?

Just use SuperDuper to clone the included Hard Drive onto your SSD. Takes 15 minutes.

If you have software on a CD/DVD, you'll have to either get a USB DVD-drive or install from another computer's optical drive over the network.

I currently don't have a Mac or PC to clone the HDD.

If you install a new blank hard drive, simply use the Internet Recovery feature. It's built into the new Mac mini (and Airs) and will download and install Lion for you over the net!

I will look into this.

Thank you.
