Has anyone had any problems utilizing D-Link dl-614+ for wireless internet connection? I am trying to determine if I need to purchase a new router or if I can stick with the one I have.

I had that router and it would only work with encryption off. Of course this was a few years ago. Try upgrading the firmware on the router, see if that helps any..

YOU NEED A NEW ROUTER

I have this exact model and it is horrible with Mac OS X. IT has barely any compatibility. It works fine running windows in bootcamp because it is compatible with Windows. You for sure need a new one. My family won't buy a new router so I just go wired, but if you need wireless and your using that router you need to purchase a new one! I have been suffering with it for almost 8 months now!

I own a DLink DIR-655 Xtreme N and it works perfectly. mindblowing fast and no dead spots whatsoever. (the connection dropped on me once since the last month and a half of use)

Thanks aaron.lee, you answered my question!

Do you know of one that you could recommend?

I will definitely look into this one! Thanks for the recommendation!

Just my two cents: i've had this exact router, for at least four years, and it works great with all five of the mac laptops that my family has here. Easy to change settings by going to 192.168.0.1, and great wireless coverage.

I would recommend anything made by linksys. I have never had a problem with any of their wireless routers.
Correct me if I'm wrong but i think they dont support OS X. (for router configuration. I know the wireless card would still get internet...)

EDIT:
Ok thx sfisher...
