Has anyone else noticed that lots of apps are having DNS issues?

Here are the ones I have noticed:

  • App Store
  • Dropbox
  • TextExpander
  • Spotify
  • Jing
  • iTunes

This is kinda a big issue, and I may have to use my Time Machine to go back to Beta 2 if this persists, which sucks as they seem to have fixed the SMS talkage in Beta 3

Apps cannot resolve Hosts.

I tested this by in Adium, if i use the servername it cannot connect.

If i put the IP in directly, it works just fine.

EDIT
Works fine on another machine. This machine is rarely rebooted, so I'm rebooting this now. Will check if issue persists.

This sounds more like a local problem to me, e.g. your DNS server. Try using a different DNS server, for testing the Google servers are always nice: 8.8.8.8.

Im always using googles servers. ;)

In any case, rebooting did resolve this issue, so I'm tagging this post as resolved.

When you work on the internet as much as I do, you learn not to trust your ISP.

When you actually work for an ISP like I do and you understand the concepts of Anycast routing, you will know that using a DNS server that's potentially not close to you CAN cause issue (slow Youtube streaming, for example).

Anyhow... not trying to argue here. Just giving some well meant advise :)
