It's probably part of a position's job duties? Not sure why it's very interesting

Because OnePlus forum admin doesn't get paid at all, and people over there guess Apple Admin doesn't get paid too.

Lots of forum admins on lots of forums everywhere don't get paid.

Some are volunteer and some are remunerated . I think it depends on what level of a site administrator they are.

Also, OP, this discussion seems More appropriately more suited For the community/Site and forum feedback.

Its still community supported. They may not even work at apple. It could just be a volunteer type thing, like Flickr.
