Do Aipods use batter optimized charging?

Noticed today my right AirPod is staying at 80% while the left was 100%

The one at 80 still shows the charging icon

Yep, my gen 3 do this pretty regularly and - not uncommon to see one AirPod at 80 while the other is at 100, lol. It's pretty good at knowing when I use them and even if I use them out of schedule, the optimized charging stays on. Wish iPhone was more like that .

Another thing I noticed this morning was my right one did not charge no sound was coming from it put in the case for a few minutes and was up to 15% fast so I could atleast use them on my commute

Yeah, my biggest complaint about AirPods is this... sometimes you go to put them in the case and it won't recognize it and they'll drain to 0 - then when you go to use them one is dead. This happened with my AirPods 1s, 2s, Pros, and 3s - no matter how hard I tried to prevent it (tapping them in the case, etc). Though it happens the least with my 3s vs previous ones. I have gotten in the habit of tapping them on my desk once they're in the case - and putting a q-tip in the case to keep it clean.

You're absolutely right - does charge up super fast.
