I'm sure I can't be the only person to think that the AirPods have the potential to be ideal wireless buds for runners, cyclists and others who enjoy outdoor activities.

Because it isn't a closed pair like the BeatsX or Powerbeats, you can still listen to audio while being aware of your surroundings. Granted, they can be prone to falling out and getting lost, but there is a whole accessory market popping up to help deal with that.

Even so, apple does not advertise them as being sweat resistant like how the aforementioned products are. Is this by choice or by business decision?

Hell, since apple charges for replacement buds if you lose them, even from a business perspective, they've got lots to gain for the bottom line. The cynical side of me sees an untapped market here for outdoors people if they could lure them in with sweat resistance.

[doublepost=1481940326][/doublepost]Besides, I don't mind using the standard Apple wired earbuds for working out for two reasons:
1. I have a lot of them now and don't worry if they fall apart, and...
2. They're tethered to me by their cable.

Neither of these things apply to the standard AirPods, especially #2. I wouldn't trust wireless earbuds for running or biking if they didn't at least have a hook to go over my ear.

I don't think he standard design of the EarPods would do well for running or cycling. I think they'd need some type of device to help keep them from falling out.
