i've been reading/searching around and can't find a firm answer to this

is there a way to install an installer.app on a uk iphone and without jailbreaking? (the main app i'm after is apollo im for msn)

thanks

You have to jailbreak to be able to install 3rd party apps on your iPhone, there is no other way around this.
It is however pretty easy to do this on a 1.1.2 UK iPhone, provided you have all the utilities and a decent walkthrough.

Yep, MisterEd is right, running 3rd party apps IS jailbreaking, so no, there is no way not to jailbreak and still run a 3rd party app, since jailbreaking is running 3rd party apps. Ow, that made my head hurt

There is no way on being able to do it until Apple allow third party applications which apparently will be in febuary. You might as well just jailbreak your phone. If you follow the rules it is boring lol
