I don’t think we are quite there yet with wireless charging tech, right now if you want to charge wirelessly the device needs to be in close contact with the wireless charger or wireless charging powerbank, however I stand to be corrected if things have developed and there are consumer goods on sale that allow wireless charging over a distance.

Give it 10-15 years maybe. Contact wireless charging is already terribly inefficient with today's technology. There are home wireless charging setups that do this but I don't think any are out of the prototype stage.
