I had a thought today while driving home testing CoPilot (and loosing the signal on more than one occasion) - would my iPhone case cause gps interference or lower signal quality? Has anyone tested this theory?

Alot of hard shelled cases do yes. As for soft ones I can't say I have never owned one. I take my case off when I want GPS to work well. It will work to some extend with it on, but not as well.

me and a friend both have switch easy cases and my other friend has a hard belkin case, and none of us have had any issues with bad gps signals.

I don't see why it would affect it. the case doesn't have magnets or anything that would interfere with a gps signal. I don't think a company would make a case that inhibits a vital feature of the phone
