I believe they have Auto Image Stabilization which is digital vs the Optical Image Stabilization in the newer iPhones.

ok.. that's what I was afraid of. I have the Mini 6 and 11" Pro(M1) side-by-side right now. The videos that I shot with both were kind of shaky and I just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with the cameras. (compared to very steady videos I shot on my iPhone Xs Max and iPhone 13)

I suggest always use your iPhone (assuming a recent model) in preference to iPad for photos and videos. iPhone cameras and processing are superior.
The iPad cameras are convenient when you want to get something directly into the iPad, like for AR and scanning a document.
