Hi,

I remember reading somewhere when I jailbroke my 2.1 that you should not restore (in iTunes) a backup made from a jailbroken iPhone. Is this true?

If so, how do I keep my latest SMS/official apps/settings/etc up to date when I restore to 2.2 and jailbreak again?

If not, let me know too that it's safe to Backup in iTunes a jailbroken iPhone and restore after upgrading to 2.2 too?

Thanks!

Yup it's safe, I've been JB for weeks and just restored and updated, did a backup before and everything is fine.

Well I have a 2G(1st gen) phone and here's what I did.

#1. Backed it up on itunes
#2. Restored it
#3. Downloaded firmware 2.2 and quickpwn
#4. Updated to 2.2
#5. Ran quickpwn

and it was all set. Of course if you have a 3G these are not the steps you should take.
