Im EVERYWHERE!
Hey im new to the forums and need your advices.
Iv been wanting to buy a mac for sometime but have needed to keep my windows acer ferrari 4005 for the windwos applications. Now that boot camp has come out i have a few questions,
Is it worth it to buy a 15" MBP right now or is tehre still alot of bugs that need to be worked out ( im new to computers in general and dont knwo if i buy one know will the problems be fixed right away or will i have a MBP that is broken....ie will applle repair/update it for free).

and lastly will programs carry over? example i install itunes on osx and i want to use it on xpo aswell is that possible? thankx for you helpo i really appreciate it!!

Apple computers have a 1yr warranty. They will fix or repair if there are problems with it.

You will need to install iTunes on both the windows and osx partitions. If you keep your songs on the windows partition both iTunes should see them.
But in short, your windows programs won't run under osx and vice versa.

Thank youi Very much,.....LADIES AND GENTLEMAN IM ABOUT TO BECOME A SWITCHER!!!! ( any sites with begginer guyz for people like me that are using a mac for the first time?)

Do you want a new computer, or need a new computer? If your current laptop has 6 months to a year left in it, it wouldn't hurt to put off the purchase...

If finances is not an issue, then my question really doesn't matter. ;)

Heres the thing, i have an acer ferrari 4005. but i want a mac so badly and instead of buying one and keeping the ferrari for games i can do both with a macbook pro. oh and my mom would be buyign my ferrari off me anyways

Youre making your mom buy your computer off of you? After she passed you through her body and clothed and fed you for 18 years? Eh.

iBook went to my mom for freeeeeeeeeeeeeeE.

Don't feel bad, not everyone can give a computer to their parents. If you are giving it to her for a reasonable price, then I see no problem in doing so. :)

Not that I can remember it, but I'm sure being born is just as bad an experience as giving birth..

Is it worldwide where people say they are going to university? I know what that means, but here in the states, people always say "I am going to college", and by college they mean a university. You never hear I am going to university. Just thought that was wierd since I have heard this term alot on these forums and never once "I am going to college" in the fall or something.

In Canada, we always distinguish between university and college. For example, if one says they're going to college, it never means university.

I hope that explains your question... ?

uk education system:

infants school: 4-6 reception through to year 2

primary school: 7-10 year 3 through 6

secondary school: 11-15 year 7 through 11

sixth form/college 16-17 year 12-13

Weird. 'Going to University' sounds like bad grammar, and judging by the spelling of our thread-starter here, I thought it was par for the course.

And for those who don't know, college is trades/technical college/diplomas (in general) and university is degrees (bachelors/masters/ph.d).

I still say "college students" though when I refer to post secondary students...unfortunately everyone goes "huh?" and I have to explain myself. sigh.

If you're going to university you might want to consider learning how to type and spell properly as well as construct sentences more coherently. Just some friendly advice. :)

Hah. Never thought about that. Good thing we don't have the same mindset then that we do now. Imagine the psychological damage if we had to go through that at this age.
