I subscribed to MM a few days ago.
Contacts and calendar work fine.
So that is an improvement considering all critisim the product MM encountered since it was introduced.

Now what about email ?.
If I sent an email using Mail on my MBA via my personal " non MM adrress" ,
is this email to appear in my sent box of iMac and iPhone , or does this solely work when using MM address.

Sorry if this is a dumb question to you all experienced mac and MM users

Not a dumb question at all!

The only mail that MM will sync is the "@me.com" mail. Having said that...

If your "non MM" mail is an IMAP account, you should be able to sync your mail across devices. By design IMAP stores all messages and changes to a central server, and those changes are synced across devices. This is separate from MM.

So, bottom line: MM only syncs MM mail, but if your mail is IMAP, it should sync just fine through that.

THX that clarifies at least why the messages didn't turn up on my iMac and MBA

To try wheter your suggestion brings results, I switched on my iPhone to my MM account and tried to send an email from there .
sending email appears not possible. I receive a message that the email address used to send to, is incorrect (which it isn't !!) or the message that the smpt server .mac was not available.

I am interested to hear whether these errors mirror the problems of all past critics. In other words am I joining the group of unsatisfied customers

I'm thinking that there is something not configured correctly. I've used it time and time again, and haven't had any issues.

If you could give some specifics on how it's configured, we may be able to help you get it working.

Do I expect something MM cannot deliver ?

Dear BroadcastDoc,
Super!
My iPhone 3G settings:
- standard account set to MobileMe
-server for send mail: smtp.me.com (which set automatically)
- in the account the 4 items email, contacts, calender and page are set active
- 3G and WIFI are set to active; dataroaming inactive

- error received when sending email is "connection with server smtp.me.com has failed"

Are there any other specifics you need to know?
