I've just ordered a refurbished iMac. On the Apple site it says it comes with iLife 08 (as all iMac's do currently)...

Will I be able to use the offer to upgrade to iLife 09 ? or doesn't this apply to refurbished products ?

Anyone Know ?

Thanks,
Mark

Yes!

Hey,
I called on Friday wondering the same thing. It's just like purchasing a new imac. You have to pay the 10$ upgrade in order to get Ilife 2009.
The only thing I don't like about getting a refurb is you can't pick out options like the Wireless keyboard for $30 extra or a larger HD.. I just joined this forum so I could reply to your question so please pat me on the back and send balloons:)

Thanks - but what I don't understand is if this also applies to refurbished products ?

I dont hope ill have to pay another 10$ just to get the latest product..

Completely wrong. iLife '09 has been announced but not released. You can't buy it yet. You can purchase it later this month (late January) for $99, but in your case, the upgrade is all you need ($9).

All, if you buy your Mac after iLife starts shipping, you will get it free. If you buy it prior to the product shipping, you must pay for the $10 upgrade. Refurbished Macs will go through the same "Formating" as new Macs (the process of imaging the Hard Drive).

Just for clarity for folks ordering it, the single user pack is $79 while the family pack is $99.

I just noticed that my preorder from Apple directly has changed the shipping date from the generic "January" and now shows that it will ship February 2nd.
