My right airpod has an odd battery drain when sitting in the charging case. It was
Somewhat sporadic but now it’s become almost the norm.

When I pull them from the charging case in the morning, the right one is either severely low or dead entirely, the left one is fully charged.

If I remove the right one and put it back in, it charges up in normal time and seems to have a normal usage time.

Thoughts?

Probably the charging case. Try cleaning both the bottom of that AirPod and the case with some rubbing alcohol and a q tip and see if that helps. Could just be dirty connections.

I'm having the same problem, but with the left AirPod. I put them in the case last night - neither was below 50% - and this morning I put them in and immediately got the low battery signal for the left one. It's happening almost daily. I've cleaned the connections and it makes no difference. Also takes several attempts of putting the AirPod into the case before it starts charging. I'm considering making a Genius Bar appointment because this shouldn't be happening.

I was having that problem when leaving them in the car when it was hot outside. Since I’ve been taking them inside, it hasn’t happen.
