You don't get any information like that when you click Open Profile and scroll down to the selection I opened to give me information?

Samsung's are 9C68, LG's are 9C67 (if someone wants to confirm that with me).

How can I find out if I have a Samsung or LG? In coloursync under device manufacturer and device name are blank. System profiler says nothing under displays.:apple:

Open up system preferences and go to Display
Go to the Color tab, select the Color LCD profile, and then click on Open Profile.
The information is displayed on line 13:
9C67 = LG
9C68 = Samsung

not that it makes a difference because it looks great, but is that meant to be good or not so good? i dont have issues with it so im not worried i just wondered why everyone is so bothered with what screen manufacturer they have

You won't suffer any yellowing issues since the 17" isn't LED backlit yet.

People with LG's tend to not have the yellowing issue that most folk with Samsung's do.

silly me

Thanks Kila of course you have to {select} line 13 to get info!! I was selected on the header. Without your pic I would still be shaking my head. I'll blame it on the fact I get up at 4 A.M. Back to Mac 101 for me. {25y Mac user}!!:)

By the way it is a Samsung and I do have the yellowing issue, though VERY faint. I'll wait and see what happens before exchanging. Seems like theres sooo many problems I don't want to trade for a different one.:apple:
